PromoGuinée is a non-profit organization created in 2006 by a group of friends from Guinea who are currently living in many different countries such as the U.S., Canada, France, and, of course, Guinea. Our main goal is to change lives and standards of living of the people of Guinea. We are geared toward preparing Guineans for a better future by reinforcing key factors of the nation's development process. Since education is key to success, it will be the first priority on PromoGuinée task list.

PromoGuinée has begun to support brilliant students from all over the nation, by providing scholarships, and offering financial support. Beginning in the school year 2006-2007, the organization has offered three full scholarships to three eleventh grade students. These students will be attending Sainte Marie High School, which is one of the most respected schools in the country. Also, PromoGuinee plans to improve public schools by offering financial and material support (for example, by providing books and computers). PromoGuinée intends to make all schools across the nation great places for children to learn.

PromoGuinée is a young organization. Currently, we are self-funded, which means that our financial resources consist solely of contributions that the members make. In the school year of 2006-2007 we've been able to send three brilliant students to one of the best schools in the country to give them a better chance of succeeding. All three students came from extremely unfavorable conditions, coming from very poor families.

We will follow-up with them until they graduate high school and possibly help them achieve their higher education goals. We hope to be able to provide the same opportunities to an increasing number is disadvantaged children each year.
