PromoGuinée Current Projects

Scholarship Project:

PromoGuinée's first project started in September 2006. Our goal was to provide scholarships for students making the transition from secondary school to high school.

The first phase of the project involves scouting students that have not only successfully completed their secondary school, but also rank in the top 10% range of the national exam (BEPC).

Once these students have been identified, our team in Guinea investigates the students' family background, their living conditions, and various other factors that can heavily impact the progress of their studies.

At the completion of this research, we administer a final test that ultimetely determines the group of students that will receive the scholarship.

The Scholarship gives these students the opportunity to study in one of the best private high school in Guinea: Saint Mary. These students become part of our families. We mentor them, provide school supplies, during the 3 years of High School.

Although we would love to offer scholarships to every student possible, we are also aware of the difficulties in the process. Therefore, our program is carefully designed to provide results.

Since its creation, we have successfully funded 15 students. Our first graduating class of 2009 was ranked among the best at the Baccaulaurate National Exam.

Their successes earned them a government grant that led them to study in Morocco.

The class of 2010, also graduated and is now continuing their education in different Universities in Gunea.

The class of 2011, also graduated with honors and are hoping to continue their studies in Guinea or abroad.
